Firesides
What is a Bahá’í Fireside? One definition is simply: “A friendly gathering, usually held in the home of a Bahá’í, where one is invited to learn about the Bahá’í Faith.” We try to keep things engaging but simple.
Firesides topics often generate conversations on spiritual, ethical or social subjects from a Bahá’í perspective. Those initiating the comments are simply people, like you, who are trying to better understand the issues faced by each of us in our daily lives.
Bahá’í Firesides are flexible in informal. You may want a Bahá’í couple to call at your home, or simply discuss the Faith over a cup of coffee or tea at a local coffee shop. Let us know your preference (tel. 608-221-816).
The programs act as a catalyst for conversation. Speakers are people that have a personal, sometimes unique, point of view on the topic they are presenting. Some are experts in their field, some are sharing their views on topics of general interest, some are telling a story about their personal experiences or observations, some are Bahá’ís – others are not; all are peacemakers and lovers of humanity. Like you, they are open-minded people that enjoy discussion about meaningful topics. Programs are often centered on documentary videos that address social issues.
Firesides are largely social gatherings. They provide an opportunity for meaningful social interaction in a spiritually healthy environment. They provide you the opportunity to get to know others and make lasting friendships – all this in the safe comfort of others just like you.
